Terms and Conditions

Please read the following booking conditions which apply to all courses offered by the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine (SOM).

Payment policy

All course bookings must be paid in full 8 weeks in advance of the course start date. 

Cheques should be made to “Society of Orthopaedic Medicine”

We can accept payment online via the following: mastercard, visa, maestro, solo, JCB

We cannot usually invoice for bookings received within 8 weeks of the course start date. 

We offer the facility to pay your course fee via interest-free instalments, if you are interested in this option please contact the SOM team to discuss. 

Please note course materials will not be sent until we have received full payment for your booking. 

Transferring your booking

You may transfer your course booking to a different venue, but please note that all transfers are subject to the following scale of charges to cover administration costs:

©  £50 if the request is received more than 8 weeks before the course start date

©  £100 if the request is received between 8 and 4 weeks before the course start date

©  Transfers are not possible within 4 weeks of the course start date

Cancelling your booking

All cancellations must be sent in writing to the SOM office.  Email is acceptable.  SOM will confirm receipt of your cancellation notification.  Cancellations will be refunded minus the following scale of charges to cover administration costs:

©  £50 if the request is received more than 8 weeks before the course start date

©  £100 if the request is received between 8 and 4 weeks before the course start date

©  Cancellations received within 4 weeks of the course start date will not be refunded

Cancellation of your course by SOM

Please note that SOM reserves the right to cancel any courses with up to 4 weeks notice, and will not be liable for any hotel or travel bookings made by students.  Course cancellations are only ever an absolute last resort and it is extremely rare that this is necessary.  Should your course be cancelled, your booking will be transferred to another date/venue that is convenient for you, or you will be issued with a full refund.   

Data Protection

To aid networking, a list of delegate names will be provided to all students and retained by the SOM for the purpose of informing students of SOM events that we consider may be of interest. This information will not be released to third parties. If you would prefer that your name does not appear on the delegate list, please indicate on your booking form.

Catering and accommodation

Coffee and tea is included in the registration fee. Students are required to purchase their own lunch**.

Accommodation is not included.

**Lunch is included on the injection module.
