GUIDELINES FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS
The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine welcomes students from overseas.
The following guidelines have been prepared to ensure that applications
from overseas students fulfil the necessary criteria for entry onto
the course.
The course is open to both medical practitioners and chartered
physiotherapists (or those with an overseas equivalent qualification).
All overseas students who are not registered to practice in the
UK will need to register with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
before being accepted onto the course. Further details available
from http://www.hpc-uk.org/
Please note that applicants must be practising in a clinical
environment. Full CSP registration is a pre-requisite (i.e. as a
practising member with full insurance) and HPC-registered students
must also currently be in employment.
All overseas qualifications will need to be verified, and the following
documents will therefore need to be included with any registration
application from overseas:
- A current CV (no longer than 2 x A4 pages please)
- Copies of relevant qualification certificates
(i.e. doctor or physiotherapist qualification)
- Evidence of professional indemnity insurance to cover the period
of your attendance at each module of the course
- HPC registration number
Please note that the checking procedure may take up to 3 months,
and you are therefore advised to book well in advance.
We look forward to welcoming you onto the course programme.
