GP Seminars
The Upper Limb – Top Ten Injections for GPs
Wednesday 13th October, Stourport, Worcestershire
Friday 12th November, Stockport, Cheshire
The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine teaches a practical system that enables doctors and physiotherapists to examine, diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions accurately. We are holding practical, one-day seminars which will give you confidence in carrying out upper limb injections.
The days promise to be very practical and interactive, and your clinical skills should be enhanced as a result of attending. Did you know that GPs are paid by government for each injection they carry out? Our course may give you the confidence to develop this service within your own practice, and so increase your revenue.
Musculoskeletal problems are common, with approximately 20% of all adults consulting their GP annually because of such conditions1. Formal training in orthopaedics received by GPs is minimal and a survey reported that 77% GPs feel their training in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions is inadequate2, and 85% would like further training2.
The programme includes:
• Principles of clinical diagnosis
• Need to know shoulder anatomy: capsulitis, subacromial bursa, AC joint
• Need to know elbow anatomy: golfers elbow, tennis elbow
• Need to know wrist anatomy: 1st CMC, carpal tunnel, De Quervain’s, trigger finger MCP/IP joint injections
What you can expect:
• Very practical and interactive course – come prepared to join in!
